What it is
Two-step verification means logging in needs your password plus a code from your phone. A scammer with your password still can't get in.
Where to turn it on first
- Your email (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud). It's the key to everything else
- myGov
- Your bank app (usually on by default)
- Facebook and other social media
The golden rule
The code is only for you. No bank, government agency or technician will ever ask you to read it out. Anyone who does is a scammer.
