Our golden rules

  1. If anyone calls about money, a problem or a prize, hang up and call back on the official number.
  2. Never read out a code sent to your phone. No real bank, government or company will ask for it.
  3. Never let anyone who contacted you connect to your computer or phone.
  4. If “family” asks for money from a new number, ask for our code word or call their usual number.
  5. Don't click links in texts or emails about parcels, tolls, tax or accounts. Open the official app or website yourself.
  6. Nobody legitimate asks to be paid in gift cards, crypto or a Bitcoin machine.
  7. If you feel rushed or scared, stop. It's okay to say “I'll call you back” and talk to someone first.
  8. If someone says “keep this secret”, that's a scam. Tell a family member.
